As of July 13, 2011, the Federal Government of Canada has renewed the EcoENERGY Retrofit – Homes program that offers grants up to $5,000 to assist homeowners to make their homes more energy-efficient. This rebate program, in combination with the Heating & Cooling Incentive program – brought to you by the Ontario Power Authorities – aims for the homeowners to replace their energy in-efficient appliances, such as old furnaces and air conditioners with high-efficiency HVAC equipment. These replacements will not only result in lower energy consumptions – and ultimately lower fuel and hydro bills – they will also correspond to lower emission levels of harmful greenhouse gasses, such as carbon dioxide (a product of combustion).
The following table shows you how much rebate you can receive
|Furnace Rebate||$250||$850 up to $1450|
|AC Rebate||$250 to $400||–|
|Smart Thermostat Rebate||–||$100 Bill credit|
Please note, the amount of money received from Enbridge rebates programs will vary based on pre- and a post-furnace installation Energy Audit.
